Brachyspira pilosicoli, the causative agent of porcine intestinal spirochetosis. B. pilosicoli is a weakly beta-hemolytic, anaerobic intestinal spirochete that occurs worldwide in pigs. In growing pigs, the disease causes diarrhoea and affects the production and welfare of animals.
